A lesson on accepting and embracing multiple perspectives in the classroom.
Throughout the school year (and in life), students will be exposed to new ideas and concepts and will invariably face peers with differing opinions. It is important that students learn to accept the perspective of others and understand why people may draw different conclusions when given the same set of facts. This lesson encourages students to embrace their own identities and learn acceptance for others by creating a visual representation of their identities, or "lenses". Included is a Google Slide presentation to guide the lesson as well as a complete lesson plan with step by step directions and prompts for student discussion.
